When it comes to the menu, Chukasoba Uemachi does not disappoint. The restaurant specializes in chukasoba, a Chinese-style noodle dish that has been adapted and perfected in Japan. This dish, which is similar to ramen, offers a more delicate and refined taste. The noodles are made fresh daily, ensuring that each bowl is a perfect balance of texture and flavor. Whether you prefer a lighter broth or something more hearty, there’s a chukasoba option that fits every taste.

One of the standout dishes at Chukasoba Uemachi is the signature shoyu chukasoba (soy sauce-flavored noodles). The broth is rich and deeply flavorful, with just the right amount of savory umami. Topped with tender slices of pork, bamboo shoots, and a boiled egg, this bowl of noodles is a comforting dish that showcases the restaurant’s expertise in traditional Japanese noodle-making. If you’re looking for something a bit more adventurous, the miso chukasoba adds a slightly richer, earthy flavor that pairs perfectly with the noodles.

The menu also features a variety of appetizers and sides, such as gyoza and chashu pork buns. These small dishes complement the main meal perfectly and give you a chance to explore other facets of Japanese cuisine. The gyoza, with its crispy golden crust and juicy filling, is a perfect starter, and the chashu pork buns are a delightful treat that you won’t want to miss.

  • I’ve been living in Osaka for a few months now and wanted to try this ramen spot listed in the Michelin Guide. I must say: this is probably the best ramen I’ve had in the city (and one of the best in Japan). Being a huge fan of shoyu ramen, I went for theirs first. The broth was truly spectacular — delicate yet full of flavor, perfectly matched with noodles that had an incredible texture and juicy slices of pork. It’s a taste I will always remember. It was so good that I couldn’t resist trying their other signature dish, the tsukemen. The broth was similar to the shoyu, but with a spicy kick and a nice touch of togarashi. The noodles, though, were on another level: thicker, perfectly cooked, and an outstanding pairing with the broth. Prices are around 1200–1500 yen for a bowl, which is very fair considering the quality. I actually had two because they were that incredible — but one is definitely enough to leave you full and satisfied. Just remember: it’s cash only. I truly recommend this place. It will probably become a weekly stop for me.

  • Wickedly good ramen at this little local restaurant. There was a small queue when we arrived but we were seated promptly and treated to some of the best ramen around! It may not be the cheapest but it was excellent and the chefs were super friendly and welcoming.

  • Absolutely love their signature Tsukemen Shoyu dipped ramen! Not a carbs person but I finished every bit of the udon! Yumz!!! Waited a while for my turn and walked 30 mins for it. Totally worth it and the price !

  • One of the best tsukemen in town! They usually have a long line to get in but since corona just not so thug to get in anymore. The seasonal tsukemen is super tasty and the noodles ( homemade) are really really good. We tasted to pork meshi, also delicious. Broth was so tasty we ordered extra rice to enjoyed more. Order properly the amount of noodles you need to get full because there is not chance to ask for “kaedama” in this shop.

  • We did not have to wait too long for this very highly rated shop. We tasted the shoyu ramen and aemen, both delicious. The shoyu broth was not too salty, with some welcome sweetness even. The aemen is first without broth, then mixed with broth when there is still some noodles left. Very tasty! I wonder what the tsukemen is like, as it has also great reviews! The place to taste for great noodles in osaka, not too fart away from the center, and without a super long waiting line.

  • If you are Korean, please be advised, there are price error on the Korean menu!! The Tsukemen was exceptional and noodle was so perfectly cooked!! This place is the everyone’s loving place! You will be welcomed and served with the cloud walking experiences with a simple ramen. Just try it if you are around. And there is always a queue!! This place is a true local yummy restaurant!!! Hope I can visit again if I come back to Osaka.

  • Rivals the best ramen in Osaka. If you have the appetite try the 2nd serving of dip ramen…the texture of the noodles is unrivaled. Go near the open or near the close to minimize wait
